Luka Dončić
Biography
Luka Dončić was born on February 28, 1999, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He began playing basketball at the age of six and quickly rose through the ranks of the youth leagues in Slovenia. In 2015, he joined Real Madrid's junior team and helped them win the EuroLeague Junior Championship in 2016. In 2018, he made his debut for Real Madrid's senior team and helped them win the EuroLeague and the Spanish League championship. He was also named the EuroLeague MVP and the EuroLeague Rising Star.
Draft
Dončić was selected with the third overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks, but was traded to the Dallas Mavericks on draft night. He made his NBA debut on October 17, 2018, and quickly became one of the most popular players in the league. He was named the Rookie of the Year in 2019 and has been named to the All-NBA First Team twice.
