Storm Center PM Update: Cooler For Some into Labor Day

Peak Summer Heat Swelters One Last Time

As the summer season barrels into its final holiday, DFW will endure one last sweltering stretch of weather.

A dome of high pressure over the Southern Plains will keep our temperatures above average through the weekend.

Highs will reach the upper 90s to around 100° each afternoon, with heat index values near 105° during the warmest part of the day.

Slight Relief Creeps In

We will finally get some heat relief early next week, thanks to a weak cold front that will slide through North Texas.

The front will bring a few showers and thunderstorms to the area, and it will also usher in cooler and drier air.

Highs will drop into the low to mid-90s by Tuesday and Wednesday, with lows in the low to mid-70s.

Labor Day Forecast

The cooler weather will stick around for Labor Day, with highs in the low to mid-90s and lows in the mid-70s.

There is a slight chance of showers on Labor Day, but most of the day should be dry.

So, if you have any outdoor plans for the holiday weekend, be sure to take precautions to stay cool and hydrated.
